Consumer centricity

Consumer centricity: Consumer centricity is a principle of business engineering, according to which new or improved business solutions are developed starting from the needs of the consumer (outside in). In business engineering, the main design goal is the value of the company. The company orients their processes, management systems and so on towards the consumers.
Expressions of this principle include: customer-individualized mass production (mass customization) meaning the individualization of products and services according to individual taste with regard to functions and design, permitting customers and consumers to help design products such as through feedback and company product development platforms (co-creation or crowd sourcing), and effects on the public opinion of products and companies through consumers using social media (such as Foodwatch.org).
